At HOPA's recent annual meeting, Lisa M. Holle, PharmD, shared data which showed the effectiveness of cannabidiol (CBD) oil in the treatment of chemotherapy-induced ailments such as vomiting and nausea.
She also discussed the positive effects of CBD in alleviating cancer-associated pain and insomnia that may be caused by cancer treatment while offering relatively few adverse effects.
Additionally, Dr. Holle noted that there are a variety of issues with studies that have been done in recent years on the subject, with much of the problem being the result of often inaccurate labeling for CBD and THC concentrations. Dr. Holle said at the HOPA meeting that this may mislead researchers when drawing conclusions and may need extensive qualitative studies to address properly.
